WALKING!!!

Daisy started walking yesterday on her 11 month birthday! I can't believe. It amazing how fast she changes. One minute she was crawling and then she was walking. She still doing both, but I'm sure in the next few days she be walking all over the place. Then Matt and I will be in so much trouble!

Wow, how time flies! Daisy is one month away from being a year old. It seems like just yesterday that we brought her home from the hospital. She changed so much in 11 months. She can stand up now and has taken some steps. I guess she's not quite ready to walk yet. We keep the camera on standby all the time just in case she decides to walk. She likes to lay on the living room floor with her ba-ba and watch Disney when she wakes up in the morning. She has learned how to shake her head from side-to-side like she's saying "no". That is something we didn't want her to learn for a while. Daisy likes to point at everything. It's so cute! When i try to put her down for her nap and she's not ready, then she'll start pointing at everything in the room. Well, we're on countdown to her birthday and me starting school (which just happens to be on the same day...UGH!!!).

Our summer vaca!!!

Well, we made it back from Maine in three pieces. It was a wonderful trip. We stopped in Rhode Island Thursday for Michael and Kerri Day's wedding (Matt's cousin). Friday we went to the zoo in Providence with Dennis, Bruce and Cheryl (Amanda's parents), Amanda, Jonathan, Ethan and Abigail(the twins), and Uncle David and Aunt Phyllis. Daisy loved the farm animals most! We took pictures of her and the twins on a caterpillar and of Daisy with Ethan on a big dog. We've already decided that Daisy and Ethan will get married! :) We got back to the hotel just in time for Daisy to take a nap and for us to get to ready for the rehearsal dinner. The dinner was at Gator's Pub in Warwick and we ate outside on picnic tables. Matt enjoyed a long and very physical game of volleyball with a bunch of the other guys. Saturday was the wedding. It was really nice, outside on the grass. Daisy had a great time. She was up until 11:15p and never fussed once!!

On Sunday we left for Maine. Our first stop when we got to Benton was to see Daisy's Great-Grandfather. It was the first time he got to see her. During our week in Maine we went to Bar Harbor, walked around on Cadillac Mountain, had a Kent family BBQ and we had tons of pool time. We left Maine on Saturday, July 19 and had a connecting flight in Washington, DC. We had one heck of a trip home. Getting to the airport in Portland at 4:30am and not getting home until 3:30p. It was nice to get home though and sleep in our own bed. It was a wonderful trip and Daisy was so good the entire time!!!

So we made it through Daisy's first July 4th with a bang!! My parents came up from GA and spent the weekend with us. Our tradition is to go on post at Ft. Campbell to see the fireworks. This year we had to make a little adjustment. Daisy wasn't feeling well, so we ended up staying at the house and having our own fireworks show. Matt, Arin and I went and picked up a ton of fireworks and shot them off for about an hour. The first ones Matt set off were firecrackers and Daisy wasn't happy about that. After a while though, she warmed up to them and started to enjoy it. She was also very facinated with my glow-in-the-dark necklace that her Grammi brought. It was a great weekend and we made many memories.

We are flying out tomorrow morning for Rhode Island. Matt's cousin Michael is getting married this weekend, so we are headed that way to spend the weekend with them. After that we are going to Maine for a week to spend time with Matt's family, whom we haven't seen since Christmas. We are very excited! Just a little nervous about how Daisy will be on the plane. Last time she flew she was 4 months old and still sleeping alot.

Oh, I completely forgot...Daisy made a major accomplishment last Sunday. She started walking with a walker for the first time. Super exciting!!! Next step...walking on her own!!
