Sergeant Matthew Kent

That's right....Matt finally made his points and is now a Sgt.!!!!! He won't officially be one until he gets back from Ariborne school and has his pinning ceremony, but YEAH...we are so proud of him. He has worked so hard and Daisy and I miss him so much! Only a little over a week.

Daisy and I have been busy going to school, playing volleyball at church and hanging out with out LIFE group. Daisy has been a trooper when I go to play volleyball on Monday nights. It's a late night for her, but then I get to sleep in past 6:30am. Arin, a friend, watches her while I play. I think I'm finally getting the hang of it. It's a lot of fun and hope to continue playing for fun. Ig uess there's not much else to say. We are just getting ready for Fall and preparing for our trip to Ft. Benning next week. Hope you are all doing!!

Chuck-E-Cheese Please!!!!

Well, Matt left on Thursday to go to Airborne school down at Ft. Benning. He just happen to leave the same weekend Ike was supposed to hit the coast. He wasn't effected by the weather, but was by the gas prices as we have been here as well. Anyways, since he left Daisy and I have been doing our own thing. We went shopping for gorceries, ran some errands, played with Juna and last night Daisy made her first appearance at Chuck-e-Cheese. Kerri (our neighbor) invited us to go with them. Daisy had a blast. There were only a few rides she could go on, but we did them a few times each. She went on the carousel, in a safari jeep, rode with Chuck in a red car, rode on the hand of a clock and on a caterpillar. She was very tired when we got home and went straight to bed. Thank goodness. I've been able to get some homework done after she goes to bed with Matt gone. :) Getting ready for another week of school and waiting for Daddy to get home. Talk to you soon....

One year pictures

Yesterday we finally got Daisy's pictures taken. That in itself has been a roller coaster, from nobody being at the studio to Daisy being in a bad mood and not smiling. We did the best we could yesterday and I think they turned out pretty good. I.....yes the Mommy....finally got to take a picture with my daughter by ourselves! Matt has had a picture with her every time we went. I was so jealous. In some of the pictures she wore just her little bloomers that say Daisy on them...they were from the Milburns. In the other ones she wore the dress Grammie made for her birthday. In some you'll see she has a yellow daisy.....she wouldn't let go of it. That was the only way we could get her to sit still. How ironic! If you would like to look at the pictures and order some, just send me an e-mail at mrskent_superwoman@yahoo.com and I'll get the information you need.
Daisy has been a champ as I have gone back to school and we are trying to get back into a routine. She is staying with our neighbor Kerstin and her little girl that is Daisy's age, Juna (sounds like tuna, but J sounds like U). Daisy and Juna get along pretty well. It's still amazing how she just walks all around the house. Next thing she'll be running!!!! Hope you had a great weekend! Until next time.....

Daisy's First Birthday Party!

So we had Daisy's birthday party on Saturday. I was really stressing out about how it would go. It went really well! We started off the morning by making last minute food and icing the cupcakes (which was my favorite part). The party was at 1:00. A lot of Matt's coworkers came with their families, along with our wonderful neighbors. We have never had so many kids in our house at one time before. It was neat to just watch Daisy follow some of them around. When we gave her a cupcake she wasn't too sure to bgin with, but after we let her taste it she really seemed to like it. She didn't get really messy though like we were hoping. Then we opened presents. She got so much stuff!! She got lots of toys and clothes. She also got a new and bigger car seat, which we have to leave rear-facing since she's not 20lbs yet. Bummer! We had a great time and I hope all of our guests did as well. I can't wait for her next birthday!! Here are some pictures from the party:

One year check-up!

So Wednesday, Daisy had her one year doctor appointment at Centennial Pediatrics. We are so excited that she now has a doctor off post that we can see anytime she gets sick. If you didn't know, it takes a lot of waiting and work to get a same day appointment on-post and you never see the same doctor. Daisy did very well at her check-up. She is 17lbs, 29in long, and her head is 46cm around. She is growing everyday, but is still out little peanut! She had to get four shots and that threw her off her schedule for a few days. Today she was finally back on track with naps and eating. We are trying to introduce her to whole milk and that's going alright. We are mixing formula and whole milk so it's not such a shocker. She enjoyed some broccoli, squash and tomatoes at Hananoki's tonight! We are getting prepared for her party tomorrow, so will let you know how that goes.

Projects and updates

So last week, Matt and I decided to put up a tile backsplash in the kitchen. It was a lot of work for him, but he did a great job. While he was doing that I upgraded our closets by adding lots of shelves. We needed more storage space. I was so excited when I got done!! I felt very accomplished.

AND Daisy turned 1 on the 25th!! We celebrated her birthday with JoAnna. JoAnna and I went on post to the day spa and had ourselves pampered. It was wonderful! I had a body wrap and then had a pedicure. FYI...the paraffin dip is well worth it!!!! For dinner we went to Ciao Bella and Daisy had spaghetti. When we got home she opened a present from Grammy and Grampa Kent....a riding John Deere tractor with farm animals, then she ate a piece of chocolate cake! Very fun to watch. I still can't believe she's 1!!!

Daisy turned ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow! Daisy turned 1 yesterday. I can't believe it. She's walking and being a big girl now!! We've had a busy weekend with the Godowns and Rosie visiting and then JoAnna coming into town on Sunday. The Godowns got here late Friday night, so we didn't get much sleep. Saturday morning we planned to go to the Splash Park on post, but ended up the girls just played in the little pool outside with our neighbor-boy Decker while Daisy took a nap. They had fun! After her naptime we went downtown to the Blackhorse Pun to eat lunch. Nice and family oriented now. After lunch the guys went to Lowes and the girls went to Once Upon a Child (a kids second-time around shop). While at Once Upon a Child Savannah was a great help watching Daisy and keeping her out of trouble. I went to check on them one time and I saw Savannah, she said "Aunt Jenny, Daisy needs a diaper change. She stinks." All the while holding her nose. It was so cute!! She was such a big help! After that Daisy needed another nap so we headed back home. The rest of the afternoon we just hung around the house. We all went for a walk before dinner. Then between Allison and I, Rosie was watching the kids, we got spaghetti on the table. Sunday morning we went to our LIFE group at church. IT was a wonderful weekend!! I am very blessed with such wonderful sisters and brother-in-law and nieces! I loved having them here and miss them so much!!!!
