One year check-up!

So Wednesday, Daisy had her one year doctor appointment at Centennial Pediatrics. We are so excited that she now has a doctor off post that we can see anytime she gets sick. If you didn't know, it takes a lot of waiting and work to get a same day appointment on-post and you never see the same doctor. Daisy did very well at her check-up. She is 17lbs, 29in long, and her head is 46cm around. She is growing everyday, but is still out little peanut! She had to get four shots and that threw her off her schedule for a few days. Today she was finally back on track with naps and eating. We are trying to introduce her to whole milk and that's going alright. We are mixing formula and whole milk so it's not such a shocker. She enjoyed some broccoli, squash and tomatoes at Hananoki's tonight! We are getting prepared for her party tomorrow, so will let you know how that goes.

Projects and updates

So last week, Matt and I decided to put up a tile backsplash in the kitchen. It was a lot of work for him, but he did a great job. While he was doing that I upgraded our closets by adding lots of shelves. We needed more storage space. I was so excited when I got done!! I felt very accomplished.

AND Daisy turned 1 on the 25th!! We celebrated her birthday with JoAnna. JoAnna and I went on post to the day spa and had ourselves pampered. It was wonderful! I had a body wrap and then had a pedicure. FYI...the paraffin dip is well worth it!!!! For dinner we went to Ciao Bella and Daisy had spaghetti. When we got home she opened a present from Grammy and Grampa Kent....a riding John Deere tractor with farm animals, then she ate a piece of chocolate cake! Very fun to watch. I still can't believe she's 1!!!

Daisy turned ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow! Daisy turned 1 yesterday. I can't believe it. She's walking and being a big girl now!! We've had a busy weekend with the Godowns and Rosie visiting and then JoAnna coming into town on Sunday. The Godowns got here late Friday night, so we didn't get much sleep. Saturday morning we planned to go to the Splash Park on post, but ended up the girls just played in the little pool outside with our neighbor-boy Decker while Daisy took a nap. They had fun! After her naptime we went downtown to the Blackhorse Pun to eat lunch. Nice and family oriented now. After lunch the guys went to Lowes and the girls went to Once Upon a Child (a kids second-time around shop). While at Once Upon a Child Savannah was a great help watching Daisy and keeping her out of trouble. I went to check on them one time and I saw Savannah, she said "Aunt Jenny, Daisy needs a diaper change. She stinks." All the while holding her nose. It was so cute!! She was such a big help! After that Daisy needed another nap so we headed back home. The rest of the afternoon we just hung around the house. We all went for a walk before dinner. Then between Allison and I, Rosie was watching the kids, we got spaghetti on the table. Sunday morning we went to our LIFE group at church. IT was a wonderful weekend!! I am very blessed with such wonderful sisters and brother-in-law and nieces! I loved having them here and miss them so much!!!!

Okay, so over the past week we've been trying to keep busy inside since it's been so hot outside. I had a couple of sewing projects that I worked on while Daisy was napping. I covered our couch pillows. They blended too much with the couch and I wanted a pop of color. I also worked on a baby bib for a shower gift for a friend.

Daisy has been walking up a storm. There is no stopping her now! She gotten a few bruises along the way. Since Daisy is almost one we've been trying to get her to eat more than just mashed baby food, so this week we tried spaghetti......boy did she love that! We also let her feed herself..what a mess she made! It was really fun to watch her though. This week she made her first visit to Chick-Fil-A and she had an icedream cup. She loved the ice cream! That was her first time ever having it. I can't wait for her party! We also went to the splash park on post yesterday. We met Melissa, Ski and Ava there. We got there early enough where Daisy and Ava were the only ones. They had a ball!! One time Daisy was crawling on the concrete and see ended up underneath a spilling bucket of water.....needless to say she didn't like that very much!! Other than that it was lots of fun. I can't wait to take her back!!

First.....

So last night at church Daisy got her first busted lip. No, it wasn't another kid that did it. She was the only baby in the nursery and she was walked around with her juice cup and tripped over her own feet. When she fell, she hit her lip on the hard part of her cup. I was in with the 2 year old kids, so Daisy's teacher brought her to see me. Her little lip was bleeding, but she had stopped crying. What a tough little girl!!!

Daisy is 11 months old!!

She loves to stand on her head!

This used to be my monkey when I was little.

Wow, how time flies! Daisy is one month away from being a year old. It seems like just yesterday that we brought her home from the hospital. She changed so much in 11 months. She can stand up now and has taken some steps. I guess she's not quite ready to walk yet. We keep the camera on standby all the time just in case she decides to walk. She likes to lay on the living room floor with her ba-ba and watch Disney when she wakes up in the morning. She has learned how to shake her head from side-to-side like she's saying "no". That is something we didn't want her to learn for a while. Daisy likes to point at everything. It's so cute! When i try to put her down for her nap and she's not ready, then she'll start pointing at everything in the room. Well, we're on countdown to her birthday and me starting school (which just happens to be on the same day...UGH!!!).
